I wonder how the rich (and politically influential) people who make their living selling oil in the Middle East and elsewhere would perceive this situation if we were to promote de-carbonization on a global scale?
In the podcast, he suggested that one of the strategies to promote decarbonization would be to make the price of oil higher, but wouldn't this incite the above people to do the same?
I remember the planned blackouts across the country after the March 2011 earthquake in Japan. We had a common goal of saving electricity, but some individuals and communities must have been uncooperative. How did government or public organization encourage those uncooperative people to save electricity then??
